The Last Great Hunt is a theatre company based in Perth, Western Australia. Its formation in December 2013 marked the merger of seven internationally acclaimed theatre makers who all have a passion for creating great theatre.
We are seven minds, fourteen hands and seventy toes of theatre making flesh and bones. We weigh in at around 64.5 Stone, stretch 36 feet tall and sleep head to toe in a long single bed beating our seven hearts, kicking our fourteen feet, and dreaming from our seven heads about the next new show we make.
We are a theatre making organism built to devise, create, improvise, write, direct, perform, compose, light, design, sow and hem, dance and sing, act and react, we have even been known to show you to your seat and serve you a drink afterwards. If it is to do with theatre – we do it.
We have over 1,000 hours of theatre making under our belts, over 5,000 lighting, sound and audio visual cues, more than 100 venues and almost 23,974 lines learnt. If it takes 10,000 hours to master a skill as a collective we’re only 9,000 hours off.
And because the world’s 24 hours round, we don’t want to waste time just working in one time zone – so we fly off with ready shows and pick up bonus hours in other countries. Look for us locally, nationally and globally, we have a curious feature of being present in many different venues at once, including sightings this year across Australia, Canada, The USA and The United Kingdom.
