Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017
Belly Button, Underbelly | Cowgate (Venue 61)
3 - 27 August, 4pm
Corgan and Jimmy are BFFs. Their lives are filled by Tinder, Grindr, white lies, big nights and too many pints. Lawn bowls, Donkey Kong, wiping vomit into the shower drain. Unanswered texts, bad sex, moving back in with Mum and Dad. In the month preceding the wedding of Corgan's ex-girlfriend the two struggle to get their life in gear enough to even hire a suit.
FAG/STAG asks what it means to have a best mate when you're stuck being your worst self.
Two of Australia's sharpest young writers, Jeffrey Jay Fowler and Chris Isaacs, command the stage as two unreliable narrators telling the same story from different points of view. FAG/STAG is a truthful but comic insight into the mind of the modern Australian man.
"Dialogue is witty and sharp, the performances are excellent... a rare gem. ★★★★★" - The Adelaide Theatre Guide
"The piece delves into the idiosyncrasies of the gay man/straight man relationship, but ultimately it’s a tale of the highs and lows of friendship. Beautiful stuff. ★★★★1/2" - The Adelaide Advertiser
"Jeffrey Jay Fowler (Jimmy) and Chris Isaacs (Corgan) are two of our most adept young writers and performers, and Fag/Stag crackles with their talent. ★★★★" - The West Australian
"Isaacs and Fowler deliver gorgeous, nuanced performances" - Australian Stage
