This is a rare opportunity to join The Last Great Hunt in 2026 for a paid internship. The internship is designed to provide a holistic and hands-on introduction to the inner workings of The Last Great Hunt. You will gain insight and practical experience across both the creative and operational sides of the company, working closely with key members of the team.
This internship is ideal for WA-based, early-career arts professionals (first five years of their practice) or recent graduates who are passionate about theatre and want to deepen their understanding of producing, arts administration, and creative development in a dynamic and artist-led environment.
What You’ll Learn
Over the course of the internship, you will be mentored by and work alongside:
Producer – learn about project management, budgeting, contracting, scheduling, and touring logistics
Marketing Director – gain insight into audience development, campaign planning, content creation, and digital marketing
Grant Writer – support the preparation of funding applications and reporting
Governance & Finance – understand the governance of a not-for-profit company, board relations, compliance, and financial management
Creative Team – participate in creative development processes, rehearsals, production support, and artistic conversations
You’ll also attend meetings, support company events, contribute to strategic planning sessions, and take part in our ongoing artistic program.
Eligibility
This internship is open to early-career artists or arts workers, recent graduates. We encourage people who work across an arts practice and arts administration to apply.

Initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Strong attention to detail
Familiarity with marketing, project management, or arts administration.

Commitment & Pay
Duration: 38 weeks full time from mid February (however we are open to flexible options to do part time)
Remuneration: $1300 per week (including annual leave and leave loading. plus 12% super)
Location: Based at our Maylands Clubhouse, with flexibility for remote and on-site work as required. Possibility for international travel (a current passport or ability to get a passport is desired).
